About Elizabeth Ashley
Essential Oil Researcher | Author | The Secret Healer
Elizabeth Ashley is one of the world’s foremost essential oil researchers. Unlike many in the field, she examines the medicine of a plant from every possible angle—from the earliest archaeological evidence of spiritual use to the latest clinical trials and laboratory discoveries.
A Legacy of Excellence
A second-generation aromatherapist, Elizabeth’s professional journey began in 1992. She is the daughter of one of the UK’s pioneering aromatherapists and a founding member of the International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA).
Today, she carries that legacy forward as a CNHC Registered Practitioner, a member of the IFA, and the UK Director for the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists (NAHA).
The Science of the "Secret Healer"
Elizabeth is known for a unique writing style that is engaging, accessible, and full of personality. She has authored over 20 technical manuals, including the best-selling The Complete Guide to Clinical Aromatherapy. Her work seeks to level the playing field between fact and fiction, helping therapists speak the "language of essential oils" with confidence.
Her expertise is not just botanical, but business-focused. After a successful tenure in commercial recruitment, she mastered the art of "selling gently"—a skill she now shares with therapists to help them seize the opportunity as aromatherapy becomes a leading global healing modality.
Shamanic Roots & Global Reach
In addition to her clinical work, Elizabeth is a Melissa Priestess and Bee Shaman, dedicated to the ceremonial and energetic applications of oils. This spiritual research is codified in works like Luminous Garments and The 27 Chambers of Honey.
