The association between women and the moon is timeless.

The silent places of the womb and tomb, and that connection through the ages.

Divine Feminine, the haunting one, guiding our dreams.

Mistress of fluids,  filling our breasts and bellies with fluids so we can bleed.

And when she is at her fullest, she is at her most watery. Her climactic glory filling the skies and moving the rivers and oceans.

The moon astrologically represents the parts of ourselves we keep hidden, whether that’s intentionally or not.

I wonder sometimes if I can feel her tickling my own water. Is it her pull on my cerebral fluids that keep me awake? Does she purposely cajole old secrets back to my mind, asking me to face those unfinished anxieties again?

What purpose does she have in tempting mysterious urges, parading our yearnings, and desires? Words that should remain unspoken, which lose their power when they leave our lips.

And yes, there’s the rub…words, com-moon-ication, loving, but spiteful and tactless without the help of mercury at this Virgo moon…picky, critical, but all for the better good of perfection,  of course.

I’ll be meditating with clary sage this day. She connects to both the moon and mercury, to help with both the challenges we face during mercury retrograde.
