About the event

The English philosopher, Bernard Williams once said, “If a June night could talk, it would probably boast it invented romance.”

As nature comes to her climax in the Northern hemisphere, the air is redolent of roses.

Aphrodite’s flower.

The Star of Venus, who waltzes eternally with Luna.

Dancing between the sun and moon, she do-si-dos, in the bee’s figure of eight.

First, Venus kisses our hearts, then feelings are made fluid by the moon. The vessel through which our emotions flow, her pull makes us vulnerable and moody.

But oh how exquisite to feel so  dreamy and in love.

Measuring about a quarter of the size of Earth, our moon is the fifth largest in the solar system, the only place beyond Earth that humans have ever trodden.

Our relationship with Luna is spell binding.

As we gaze into the night sky, from our sun-loungers, we witness the goddess in her stellar garden. She plays chess with our fate in the stars. The sun, the mythical king  and she, his cosmic queen.

Roses and moonlight;  never was there such a powerful marriage. Astronomers will tell you; the romance of the universe is fuelled by humankind’s devotion to the moon.

When I sit out for this meditation in England, the leafcutter bee will have gone to her bed. But perhaps you might see yours working, making beautiful tiny cots for her babies, from petals.

I imagine moths flickering around my candle and the peeps of pipistrelles as my music.

The strawberries will hopefully be juicy and fragrant, and the hive rich with honey.

The sexual climax of the year, in her moist voluptuous splendour.

Rose magic in women is similar.

Oozing, fragrant and delicious.

Moist, sensuous, and supple.

I thought we would really bathe for this meditation. Sprinkle rose petals on the water, light some candles and melt into a soup of self care.

Reflect on what is wonderful and really nurture the parts of us that are stinging, tired or sore.

The aromatic bath, so often spoken of yet, so infequently explored.

Book now to spend time together with rose essential oil and the strawberry moon.
